How to Apply

In order to qualify, applicants must already be enrolled in any of the partner schools of the program, except for the MBFI-MTC Scholarship Program.

Applicants must submit requirements to the scholarship coordinator of the partner school. For application forms and requirements, please contact the scholarship coordinator/office of student affairs of your school.

The school will pre-screen applicants and those who qualified will be endorsed to the foundation for the final selection process. Scholars will be selected based on the following:

Paper evaluation of credentials;

Written Examination; and
-
Panel Interview

Fluor-MBFI Scholarship Program
In 2009, Fluor Inc.,tied up with Metrobank Foundation to provide 25 scholarship grants to first year engineering students of any field of the partner schools, Adamson University, Don Bosco Technical College-Mandaluyong, Technical University of the Philippines-Manila, University of Santo Tomas, University of the East-Manila, and Central Philippine University (Ilo-ilo City). This is a five-year grant giving a full academic assistance and allowances to incoming 1st year students.

Eligibility
-
Must be a first year Engineering student (any field);
-
With cumulative high school grade point average not lower than 85% (original documents must be presented for authentication purposes) as evidenced by a certified true copy of Form 137 or a photocopy of the high school card during fourth year;
-
With total annual family income not exceeding P 250,000 for a family of 5 as evidenced by a certified true copy of the latest Income Tax Return or when not applicable, an affidavit stating information about the sources and amount of income and number of family members;
-
A Filipino citizen as evidenced by a certified true copy of Birth Certificate (original must be presented for authentication purposes);
-
Not concurrently a recipient of any major scholarship or financial aid (e.g., pre-need educational plans, DOST or other academic-related scholarship, etc.) as attested to in a duly-notarized affidavit;
-
Applicants shall submit a Certification stating awards received in both academic, extra- and co-curricular activities in high school issued by the school principal;
-
Physically fit as evidenced by a Medical Certificate from a qualified physician; and
-
Of good moral character as evidenced by a Certification from the High School principal or issued by a competent authority in the school.
Requirements
Accomplish an MBFI application form which can be secured from the College of Engineering (for AdU, TUP, UE, UP), Scholarship Office (for DBTC) and the Office of Student Affairs (for UST);
Complete the following documentary requirements

Certified true copy of Birth Certificate;

Transcript of records of the previous years in college;
-
Latest Income Tax Return (ITR);
-
Certificate of Enrollment or Registration;
-
Notarized affidavit certifying that the applicant is not a recipient of any major scholarship or financial aid;
-
Certification stating awards received in the previous year;
-
Medical certificate; and
-
Certificate of Good Moral Character;
Submit the said requirements through the respective office mentioned above.
Benefits

100% coverage of tuition and miscellaneous fees

P 2,000 monthly allowance for each scholar for 10 months per school year

Supplemental formation and training activities as enjoyed by other Metrobank Foundation scholars, e.g. “Defining Excellence”: A Formation Program for Metrobank Foundation Scholars; Summer Internship Program for Scholars (SIPS); “Celebrating Excellence”: A Graduates’ Forum for Metrobank Foundation Scholars
To retain the scholarship, the following conditions must be met every semester

A semestral grade point average not lower than 85% or its equivalent, with no failing grades;
-
Must not drop any subject nor cancel their enrollment for the period during which they enjoy the scholarship;
-
Must carry the full semestral load as prescribed by the respective scholar’s department or program adviser;
-
Must not enjoy major financial assistance, grant or scholarship from other external sources; and
-
Must not accept any kind of employment while on scholarship, the intent being to require them to devote full time to their studies.

Must actively participate in the community service projects of MBFI and/or Fluor during semestral breaks, summer vacation and Christmas season, or special/major events

Scholarship Background
The program was conceived in honor of OFWs who toil hard to provide a better future for their families and to develop the youth as future leaders of the country. Philippine National Bank Global Filipino Scholarship Program entails the grant of one (1) scholarship opportunity per school year for four (4) years to children of OFWs currently abroad and active PNB remitters.

Scholarship Benefits
-An amount not exceeding P100,000.00 for one (1) year which will be given in installments via credit to account at the start of each semester or trimester.
-PNB will shoulder expenses for tuition and miscellaneous fees, costs and allowances for books, uniform, stipend, transportation, and airfare (as needed).
-Opportunity to work in PNB’s overseas office

Scholarship Qualifications
1. The applicant’s parent must be a PNB client who is currently as an OFW
2. The OFW parent must be using PNB remittance service in the last six months

Scholarship Requirements
1. Incoming college freshman
2. Must have passed the qualifying exam in any of the PNB Global Filipino partner schools
3. Grade weighted average of 85 percent
4. No failing mark for the third year or fourth year subjects in highschool
5. Completely filled out Application Form
